Use this simple 2-step process when you feel stuck to get you going.

I want to share with you a very simple two-step tool that can help you many times when you feel you’re stuck or you don’t know how to go about from a certain point.

Often we feel like we don’t have enough time, we don’t have enough money, we don’t have enough options or resources. One approach that I’m using in my coaching practice with the clients in this particular situation is a very simple two-step process that I want to share with you.

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is to take out a piece of paper and a pen and write down all the resources and the assets that you currently have. When you think of resources and assets don’t think only on about capital, real estate or any other let’s say tangible resource because those are not all the resources. I believe the most important resource which is highly underused is for example time. The second one (very close to first place) is the people you know and the networks that you’re in.

When you think resources, consider all these:

  • knowledge and know-how – what you’ve learned and the things you know how to do are all precious resources
  • systems and tools – from digital systems like how to use a computer, internet and specific software to personal systems for prioritizing, self-discipline, mediation, mindfulness, etc.
  • platforms where you can easily reach and engage with countless professionals, entrepreneurs, influencers, etc.
  • anything that’s tangible or digital/virtual and you possess or have access to and you can use it to achieve your goals

Step 2

Think about on a scale from 1 to 10 one being the lowest 10 being the highest how much or how often or how intensive are you using each one of the resources you wrote down at Step 1.

Be as realistic as you can, think about how actually are you using each resource and I think you’re gonna be in for a big surprise because many of them you’re gonna realize that you’re not using at all or you’re using it very at a very very low potential from their overall value.

You’re probably going to see a lot of the resources on your list will get very low numbers like 1-5, some will probably get 5-8, but very few will most likely get high values like 9 or 10/10.

The difference between those numbers to 10/10 is the actual potential that you have on using each one of the underused resources. Just take a moment and let it sink in…How many powerful resources you actually have at hand to use and how little you’re actually using them.

So every time you think like you don’t have enough or you stuck, do this exercise and it’s going to take you probably five minutes but you’re going to realize you have so many things and resources and contacts and people and all other things that you haven’t considered even that are resources and you are not using them at all or you are using them on a very very low level.
